Brief an assistant to chase interview feedback discreetly

  • For HR and recruiting

About this exercise

You want an AI assistant to chase missing interview feedback. Write its brief: remind only interviewers who haven't submitted and whose interview was 24 or more hours ago, never mention anyone else's feedback or the candidate's status in a reminder, draft (never send) the Slack messages, and ask you before sharing anything with the hiring manager. Output exactly 4 numbered plain-text lines: one draft per interviewer to remind in table order, an ASK_HUMAN, then DONE.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Not showing the log format. Left alone, the AI writes a friendly report with headings instead of a checkable action log. Try: Show it literally: "Format every line like 1. ACTION: tool(args), then ASK_HUMAN: and DONE: lines. Plain text."
  • No timing rule. The AI nags everyone who hasn't submitted, even someone who interviewed yesterday afternoon. Try: Say: "Remind only if not submitted and 24+ hours since the interview."
  • Leaking feedback. To motivate people, the AI mentions that others said hire, which biases them. Try: Add: "Never mention others' feedback or the candidate's status."
  • Letting it share or send. The hiring manager asks, so the AI shares everything and sends the reminders. Try: Add: "Draft only. Ask me before sharing feedback with anyone."

What a strong prompt includes

  • Sets the timing rule
  • Keeps feedback private
  • Says draft, never send
  • Holds the sharing
  • Shows the action-log format
