Announce the employee assistance program in three steps
Practice: Setting limits and rules. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You're announcing the new employee assistance program to all staff. Write one opening sentence saying it's free and confidential, then exactly 3 numbered steps to access it with the current contact details, plain text, under 75 words. Describe what the program offers only as the vendor states it, and give no advice about anyone's personal situation.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Asking for 'an announcement'. The AI writes a warm, long email with headings and wellness tips. Try: Be exact: "One opening sentence, then exactly 3 numbered steps. Plain text."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead: "each line under 16 words."
- Using the old number. The old number appears first, with the update below it. Try: Add: "Use the new number, 1-800-555-0188."
- Giving advice. AI tries to be supportive and suggests the program for stress or specific conditions. Try: Add: "Describe it only in the provider's words. No advice, no conditions."
