Get feedback on your own interview answer, not a new one

About this exercise

You wrote your answer to "Why do you want to work here?" and want to say it in your own words. Get exactly 3 numbered fixes, biggest problem first, each under 25 words, plain text, with no rewritten answer or replacement sentences. Check your answer against the company facts you collected, since one of your facts is out of date.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Getting a new answer to memorize. Ask to 'make it better' and the AI writes a polished answer that doesn't sound like you in the room. Try: Add: "Don't rewrite it or give me sentences. Tell me what to fix."
  • Not ranking the fixes. The AI lists small wording issues first, so the biggest problem gets lost. Try: Add: "Biggest problem first."
  • Not checking the facts. The AI reviews the style but won't compare your numbers with your research unless asked. Try: Add: "Check every fact in my answer against my research."
  • Getting a long review. AI feedback comes as headed sections with 6 or more tips. Try: Be exact: "Exactly 3 numbered fixes, each under 25 words."
  • Forgetting where it's going. AI adds bold and headings that show up as stray symbols in your interview notes. Try: Add: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."

What a strong prompt includes
