Turn an internal priority guide into a customer table
- For Customer support teams
- You practice Saying who it's for
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Turn the internal guide into a customer-facing table. Header row exactly "Priority | Example | First reply". Four rows, P1 to P4. Leave out every internal column (escalation owner, paging, QA flag). Plain text, under 90 words. First reply uses the business-hours wording from the guide.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Copying every column. The AI keeps the internal columns because they are in the source. Try: Say: "Drop escalation owner, paging and QA flag."
- Changing the reply times. The AI rounds or rewrites the time targets. Try: Say: "Use the exact first-reply targets from the guide."
- Adding notes. The AI adds an intro and a note about the Free plan. Try: Say: "Output only the header and four rows."
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands well over the limit. Try: Cap each part instead of the total, for example "each line under 15 words".
What a strong prompt includes
