Pull follow-up leads from an open house sign-in sheet
Practice: Asking for a format you can use. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
After Sunday's open house, you want a follow-up list. Skip anyone already working with an agent, other agents, and neighbors who aren't buying; list each person once. Write one numbered line per lead (there are 4), sorted by last name, as Last, First - phone - one-word note. Plain text, under 50 words, nothing else.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Not saying who to skip. The AI lists everyone, including another agent and a curious neighbor. Try: Add: "Skip people with an agent, other agents, and non-buying neighbors."
- Not merging repeats. Carla shows up twice. Try: Add: "List each person once."
- Leaving the format open. The AI writes a CRM-style table with all the notes. Try: Show it: "1. Adler, Ben - 555-0133 - relocating. Sorted by last name."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each line: "each line under 8 words."
- Forgetting where it goes. AI loves markdown tables and bold, which show up as clutter in your CRM import. Try: Add: "Plain text, no bold, headings or tables."
