Write carousel slide text for a tune-up special
Practice: Asking for a format you can use. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You own Spoke & Chain Bikes and are posting an Instagram carousel for the winter tune-up special. Write exactly 5 numbered slides, each under 10 words: slide 1 is a hook, slides 2-4 are what the tune-up includes, and slide 5 is how to book. Use the final price and dates from the update, plain text, only the slides.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Asking for "a carousel post". The AI writes a caption plus slide ideas with bold headers and design notes. Try: Set the shape: "Exactly 5 numbered slides, text only."
- Not limiting each slide. The AI writes full sentences nobody reads while swiping. Try: Add: "Each slide under 8 words."
- Using the draft offer. The $59 price and November dates come first in the notes. Try: Add: "Use the Oct 28 update: $65, Dec 1-20."
- Adding perks you don't offer. The AI throws in free pickup and "best shop in town" to sell harder. Try: Add: "No free pickup, no best-shop claims."
What a strong prompt includes
- Says how many slides
- Limits each slide
- Uses the update
- Says what each slide does
- Asks for only the list
