Write flyer text in the exact four lines the template takes
Practice: Asking for a format you can use. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You're making the flyer for the Pinecrest Public Library's author talk, and the template has four text boxes. Write exactly 4 lines labeled Title:, When:, Where: and Cost:, each under 12 words, using the rescheduled date and the moved room. Leave out the book signing (not confirmed), and use plain text with nothing else.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Asking for "a flyer". The AI writes a full flyer with a headline, paragraphs and emoji bullets. Try: Match the template: "Exactly 4 lines: Title:, When:, Where:, Cost:."
- Using the old date or room. The original details come first in the notes. Try: Add: "Use the reschedule: Thursday, Feb 19, Main Reading Room."
- Advertising what isn't confirmed. A book signing makes events sound better, so the AI adds it. Try: Add: "Don't mention the signing."
- Trusting the AI to count words. Each line grows into a sentence. Try: Cap it: "Each line under 9 words."
- Getting formatting. The AI bolds labels or adds a heading. Try: Add: "Plain text, no bold."
What a strong prompt includes
- Names the 4 lines
- Uses the new date
- Uses the new room
- Leaves out the signing
- Sets a length per line
