Lay out an outbound email sequence from the new playbook
Practice: Asking for a format you can use. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You're an SDR at Pinecrest Payroll setting up a 4-step email sequence for restaurant owners. Write exactly 4 numbered lines in the shape Day N - Subject - Purpose, using the days from the updated playbook, each line under 16 words. No "breakup" email (the new playbook dropped it), subject lines all lowercase, and only the plain-text list.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using the old sequence. The 2024 sequence is complete and comes first. Try: Add: "Use the new playbook: days 1, 4, 9, 16."
- Keeping the breakup email. The AI's default sequence always ends with a breakup email. Try: Add: "No breakup email. Step 4 is a soft check-in."
- Ignoring the subject style. The AI writes Title Case subjects with question marks. Try: Add: "Subjects all lowercase, under 5 words."
- Writing the full emails. The AI drafts every email in full, with bold headers. Try: Add: "Exactly 4 numbered lines: Day N - Subject - Purpose. Plain text."
What a strong prompt includes
- Sets the line shape
- Uses the new days
- Drops the breakup email
- Sets the subject style
- Asks for only the list
