Plan a week around classes, shifts and a swapped shift
- For College students
- You practice Setting limits and rules
- Time about 5 minutes
About this exercise
Plan your week around classes and your job. Write exactly 7 numbered lines, Monday to Sunday, each listing that day's fixed blocks and study blocks with times, like '1. Mon: 9-12 class; 1-5 work; 7-9 essay'. Your essay is due Thursday at 9am and needs 3 study blocks before then. Each line ends with that day's study hours in brackets, like [study 2h], and Sunday is completely free. One shift was swapped, so use the new schedule. Plain text, under 160 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Missing the swap. The fixed schedule says Wednesday 1-5, and the AI keeps it. Try: Add: "I swapped Wed 1-5 for Tue 5-9."
- Overlapping blocks. The AI drops study blocks on top of classes or shifts. Try: Add: "No study block overlaps a class or shift. Nothing past 11pm."
- Using your free day. The AI fills Sunday because it's open. Try: Add: "Sunday completely free."
- A table with tips. The AI makes a markdown calendar and adds study advice. Try: Show it: "1. Mon: 9-12 class; 1-5 work; 7-9 essay". Plain text.
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting words, so a total word cap usually lands over. Try: Cap each line: "each line under 18 words."
What a strong prompt includes
