About this exercise
After a 1:1 with Leah, post the project-relevant outcomes in the team channel. Write exactly 3 numbered lines, each 'Who - what - when', using only work items Leah agreed to. Leave out anything personal from the 1:1. The notetaker added a deadline nobody agreed to, so check the transcript. Plain text, under 60 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Sharing private details. The notetaker logged Leah's appointment and move, and the AI posts them. Try: Add: "Leave out anything personal: health, the move, how she feels."
- Keeping the invented deadline. The notetaker says Friday for the budget, but Leah didn't commit. Try: Add: "Budget draft date is TBD, confirmed Monday."
- Messy format. The AI writes a friendly paragraph instead of scannable lines. Try: Show it: "1. Leah - vendor comparison - Wednesday"
- Markdown in chat. The AI adds bold headers that look odd in the channel. Try: Add: "Plain text, no bold."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting words, so a total word cap usually lands over. Try: Cap each line: "each line under 12 words."
What a strong prompt includes
- Keeps it private
- Checks the transcript
- Shows the line shape
- Sets the line count
- Caps the length
