Turn environmental science notes into fill-in-the-blank cards
Practice: Asking for a format you can use. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
For APES, fill-in-the-blank works best for you. Get exactly 6 numbered sentences from your carbon cycle notes, each with one key term replaced by '[blank]', then all 6 missing terms under an 'Answers' line at the end, plain text. Use only your notes, including Ms. Rowe's correction about the ocean.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Asking for flashcards. The AI writes term-definition cards, not the fill-in-the-blank style you study with. Try: Show one: "Plants take in CO2 through [blank]."
- Not saying how many sentences. The AI picks its own number, and it usually picks more sentences than you need. Try: Be exact: "Exactly 6 numbered sentences."
- Answers next to each blank. Seeing the answer in the same line means you never actually recall it. Try: Add: "Put all 6 answers at the end under 'Answers'."
- Missing the correction. Your wrong note about the ocean is still in the material. Try: Add: "Use only my notes, with Ms. Rowe's correction about the ocean."
- Forgetting where it will be read. AI formats for a screen, with bold and headings that show up as stray symbols on a printed page. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."
