Write a talk track for a three-minute close kickoff call

About this exercise

Rosa leads Monday's three-minute November close kickoff and wants something she can read aloud. Write a prompt for exactly 4 lines, each starting "Say:", covering what's new this month, the blocker, the asks, and the hard deadline, in that order. Leave out anything unconfirmed or outside the close. Plain text, under 110 words.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Talking points, not a script. The AI writes bullet notes with headings that Rosa can't read aloud. Try: Say: "Exactly 4 lines, each starting Say:, written to be spoken."
  • Including the rumor. The AI passes on the auditor rumor as news. Try: Add: "Leave out anything unconfirmed and anything outside the close."
  • Losing the key dates. Squeezed for space, the AI drops the BD3 and BD5 noon details. Try: Ask: "Keep the blocker's new date and the BD5 noon deadline."
  • Trusting the AI to count words. Scripts drift long when only a total limit is given. Try: Cap each line: "each Say: line under 22 words."

What a strong prompt includes

  • Asks for a spoken script
  • Sets the order
  • Drops the rumor
  • Sets the line count
  • Sets length
