Route journal entries to approvers using the matrix and a delegation

About this exercise
You're routing journal entries for approval the week the Controller is on leave. Write a prompt for exactly 5 numbered lines formatted "1. JE-1 - $amount - approver", one per entry. Use the authority matrix and the delegation memo. An amount exactly at a limit belongs to the lower tier. Don't mention anyone's availability preferences. Plain text, under 90 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Missing the delegation. The AI sends JE-2 to the Controller on leave. Try: Add: "Entries dated Nov 9 to Nov 13 that belong to the Controller go to the Assistant Controller."
- Wrong tier at the limit. The AI sends the $5,000 JE-4 to the Controller. Try: Say: "Exactly $5,000 is the Supervisor tier."
- Following the Supervisor's request. The AI sends JE-2 to the CFO. Try: Add: "Do not mention preferences or requests."
- Wrong format. The AI uses a table and bold. Try: Say: "Exactly 5 numbered lines starting with 1."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and runs past word limits. Try: Ask for fewer words than the real cap and keep each line short.
What a strong prompt includes
- Shows the line format
- Gives the tiers
- Applies the delegation
- Bans preferences
- Sets the count
