Brief an assistant to use only images you're allowed to use

About this exercise

You're building a client pitch deck and want an AI assistant to place images. Write its brief: use only images with a commercial-use license, add a credit line like "Photo: Name / CC BY" for any CC BY image, leave out editorial-only images, send any image with an unknown license to you with ASK_HUMAN, and never buy anything. Output exactly 7 numbered plain-text lines: one per image in order (place, skip or ASK_HUMAN), then DONE.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Not showing the log format. Left alone, the AI writes a friendly report with headings instead of a checkable action log. Try: Show it literally: "Format every line like 1. ACTION: tool(args), then ASK_HUMAN: and DONE: lines. Plain text."
  • No credit rule. The AI places CC BY images with no credit, which breaks the license. Try: Add: "CC BY images need a credit line: Photo: Name / CC BY."
  • Not checking licenses. The AI places any image that looks good, including editorial and unknown ones. Try: Add: "Commercial-use only. Skip editorial. Unknown license goes to ASK_HUMAN."
  • Letting it spend. Given buy_license, the AI pays for the premium image to finish the deck. Try: Add: "Never buy anything. End with DONE."

What a strong prompt includes
