About this exercise
Write a Slack message to Teo, the admin at Quillon Media, nudging him to roll out approval chains to more teams. Start the message with the exact words "Quick one, Teo:". Use this month's number, not last month's, and the review-time drop. Plain text, under 60 words, with exactly one link written as [setup guide], and make the last line exactly "Want me to set up Video this week? Yes or no".
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using the stale number. The AI picks the first stat it sees. Try: Say: "Use this month's number, 3 of 12 teams."
- No clear next step. The AI ends with an open "let me know your thoughts." Try: Ask: "End with a yes/no question he can answer in one word."
- Missing the link format. The AI invents a URL or leaves the link out. Try: Say: "Include exactly one link written as [setup guide]."
- Trusting the AI to count words. Nudges grow into announcements. Try: Ask for "3 short sentences, under 50 words."
- Formatting for Slack wrong. The AI adds bold and bullets. Try: Say: "Plain text for Slack, no bold."
What a strong prompt includes
- Uses the current number
- Gives the link format
- Ends with a yes/no question
- Sets a word limit
- Asks for plain text
