About this exercise

Code each cancellation note with exactly one reason code: PRICE, PRODUCT, SERVICE, COMPETITOR or BUDGET. If a customer names a rival product, use COMPETITOR even if price is mentioned. Return one CSV code block with the header "id,reason,quote" and six rows. The quote is a verbatim phrase of 6 words or fewer from the note. No text outside the block.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Coding C3 as PRICE. The customer says 'too expensive', so the AI picks PRICE. Try: Add: "If a rival is named, use COMPETITOR even if price is mentioned."
  • Paraphrasing the quote. The AI rewrites the note instead of quoting it. Try: Say: "Quote verbatim, 6 words or fewer."
  • Wrong shape. The AI adds a heading, an explanation or a table. Try: Say: "One CSV code block, header id,reason,quote, nothing else."
  • Skipping the code block shape. The AI splits output into several code blocks or none. Try: Say "exactly one code block and nothing else".
  • Letting the code sprawl. The AI adds extra lines and comments. Try: Say "at most N lines of code".

  • States the competitor rule
