About this exercise

You're the Chief Customer Officer opening an executive business review with Calder Group's CEO. Write a spoken talk track in exactly 3 short paragraphs starting "Open:", "Proof:" and "Ask:". Proof must use only the savings Calder's own finance team confirmed, with the ROI math against the annual fee. Own the Q2 outage in one sentence. The Ask is the APAC pilot, with no pressure tactics. Plain text, under 140 words.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Using the biggest number. The AI picks the $340,000 projection because it sounds better. Try: Say: "Use only Calder's confirmed $210,000. Leave out the projection."
  • Hiding the math. The AI says ROI is strong without the working. Try: Ask: "Show it: $210,000 / $90,000 = about 2.3x."
  • Skipping the bad quarter. The AI leaves out the outage to keep it upbeat, and the CEO notices. Try: Add: "Own the May 14 outage in one sentence."
  • Adding fake urgency. The AI uses the AE's lock-in-now line. Try: Say: "No pricing deadlines or pressure. The price change isn't approved."
  • Writing for slides. The AI writes bullets and headings, not speech. Try: Ask for "3 spoken paragraphs, plain text, under 110 words."

What a strong prompt includes

  • Uses the confirmed savings
  • Asks for ROI math
  • Owns the outage
  • Bans pressure
  • Sets the shape
