Outline a QBR deck from account data, dip included
- For Customer success managers
- You practice Keeping the AI to your sources
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
You're presenting a QBR to Fenwick Hotels' VP of Guest Services. Outline the deck as exactly 5 numbered slides, each formatted "Slide title: one key number from the data". Use the final Q3 numbers, not the preliminary ones, show the ticket spike honestly instead of hiding it, and make slide 5 the asks for next quarter. Plain text.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using the first number you see. The AI takes the 74% from the data table and misses the later correction. Try: Say: "Use final Q3 numbers; the Oct 9 correction overrides the table."
- Hiding the bad news. The AI builds a highlights-only deck and drops the ticket spike. Try: Ask: "Include one slide on the ticket spike and the fix, plainly."
- Leaking internal info. The AI treats everything in the notes as fair game, including the unannounced price change. Try: Add: "This is customer-facing. Leave out internal-only items."
- No fixed shape. The AI writes a long deck with speaker notes and sub-bullets. Try: Say: "Exactly 5 numbered slides, one line each, slide 5 is our asks."
- Letting markdown in. The AI bolds slide titles. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold or headings."
What a strong prompt includes

- Uses the corrected number
- Keeps the bad news in
