Rewrite three vague goals as measurable goals in a table
- For Customer success managers
- You practice Asking for a format you can use
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Rewrite the three vague goals as measurable ones. Output a table with the header row exactly "Goal | Metric | Baseline | Target | By when" and three rows. Use only the numbers in the notes, and every date is Mar 31. Plain text, under 90 words, nothing before or after the table.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Keeping the goals vague. The AI restates 'use more' without a number. Try: Say: "Each row needs a metric with baseline and target numbers."
- Inventing numbers. The AI adds its own targets or dates. Try: Say: "Use only the numbers in the notes."
- Adding extra rows. The AI adds the logo or mobile app request. Try: Say: "Three rows only. Leave out other items."
- Free-form layout. The AI writes a bulleted list. Try: Give the exact header row.
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
What a strong prompt includes
- Asks for plain text
- Sets a length limit
- Gives the header row
- Restricts to the notes
