About this exercise
Write an FAQ for staff with exactly 3 questions. Format each as "Q:" then "A:" on the next line, answers under 20 words, and start with the exact line "IT Help: VPN". Under 110 words in total. Cover: the server address, who to contact for a locked account, and what to do when the VPN is slow. Use only the current notes. Plain text.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Mixing in the old wiki. The AI blends the outdated address and email route with the new notes. Try: Add: "Use the Nov 1 notes only."
- Missing the topics. The AI writes general VPN tips. Try: List the three topics in order.
- Wrong format. The AI writes headings and paragraphs. Try: Show it: "Q: ..." then "A: ..." on the next line.
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long. Try: Cap each answer: "each answer under 18 words".
What a strong prompt includes
- Asks for plain text
- Shows Q and A format
- Lists the topics
