About this exercise

Write a developer help article with exactly three labeled lines: Title:, Cause:, Fix:. Title starts with "How to". Fix is one sentence. After them, exactly one code block of at most 8 lines showing pseudo-code that waits for the Retry-After seconds and retries once. Do not suggest creating extra API keys. Keep prose under 70 words.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Suggesting more keys. The agent suggestion is in the ticket and the AI includes it. Try: Say: "Do not suggest extra API keys."
  • Wrong code shape. The AI writes a long multi-block example. Try: Say: "One code block, at most 8 lines, retry once."
  • Missing labels. The AI writes a long essay. Try: Name Title:, Cause:, Fix: and cap the prose at 70 words.
  • Skipping the code block shape. The AI splits output into several code blocks or none. Try: Say "exactly one code block and nothing else".

What a strong prompt includes

  • Asks for one code block
  • Caps the code length
  • Cuts the chatter
  • Names the labels
  • Asks for one code block
