About this exercise

This ticket finally got solved, and you want a help-center article so the next customer can fix it alone. Use exactly four headings in this order: Symptoms, Cause, Fix, Still stuck?. Under Fix, give exactly 4 numbered steps, only the steps that actually worked. Leave out the customer's name, email and ticket number. Under 200 words.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Letting the AI pick the headings. The AI invents its own section names, so the article doesn't match the rest of your help center. Try: List them: "Headings exactly: Symptoms, Cause, Fix, Still stuck?"
  • Keeping the step that failed. The AI retells the thread, so the reinstall suggestion becomes step 1. Try: Say: "Only steps that worked. Reinstalling did not help."
  • Leaving personal details in. The AI copies names and ticket numbers from the thread into public text. Try: Add: "No customer name, email or ticket number."
  • Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands well over 200 words. Try: Cap each part instead of the total: "each line under 15 words".
  • Leaving the count open. Without a number, the AI picks its own list length and often adds extras. Try: Say "exactly 4 numbered lines" and show the line format.

What a strong prompt includes
