About this exercise
Write a phone talk track for the call to Gerald, with exactly three labeled lines: Open:, Fix:, Close:. It is spoken, so use short sentences and no lists. Under 90 words, plain text, and never say "unfortunately" or "calm down".
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Writing an email, not speech. The AI writes long formal sentences and bullet lists. Try: Say: "Spoken talk track, short sentences, no lists."
- Guessing the cause. The AI invents a reason, such as a system glitch. Try: Add: "Say the cause is still being checked. Do not guess."
- Banned phrases and missing deadline. The AI says unfortunately and forgets the Nov 12 follow-up. Try: Add: "Never say unfortunately. End with the Nov 12 email promise."
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands well over the limit. Try: Cap each part instead of the total, for example "each line under 15 words".
What a strong prompt includes
- Asks for plain text
- Sets a length limit
- Names the three labels
- Says it is spoken
