Turn agent notes into a self-service Wi-Fi checklist
- For Customer support teams
- You practice Asking for a format you can use
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Turn these notes into a checklist a customer can follow. Exactly 5 steps, each starting with "[ ]", ordered from least to most disruptive. Skip any step that needs an admin login. Put "(last resort)" at the end of the final step. Plain text, under 100 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Including the admin step. The AI includes the firmware update even though customers can't do it. Try: Say: "Skip anything needing an admin login."
- Keeping the notes' order. The AI lists steps as written, so the factory reset appears in the middle. Try: Say: "Order from least to most disruptive."
- Missing the last-resort label. The AI doesn't mark the destructive step. Try: Add: "End the final step with (last resort)."
- Getting markdown back. AI adds bold and headings by default, which show up as stray symbols where this is pasted. Try: Say "plain text, no bold, no headings, no asterisks".
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and usually runs long, so a vague "keep it short" lands well over the limit. Try: Cap each part instead of the total, for example "each line under 15 words".
What a strong prompt includes
