Prepare safe answers to five tough all-hands questions
- For Executives
- You practice Keeping the AI to your sources
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Intermediate
About this exercise
Prepare answers to the five questions as Q/A pairs in plain text, formatted as "Q: question" then "A: answer" on the next line. Answer only from the approved facts. If the approved facts do not cover a question, the answer is exactly: We don't have that answer yet, and we will update you by Dec 5. Each answer is under 25 words.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Answering what is not covered. The AI invents an answer about CEO pay. Try: Say: "If the facts do not cover it, answer exactly: We don't have that answer yet, and we will update you by Dec 5."
- Using the uncleared remark. The AI hints at cost cuts in Q1. Try: Say: "Use only the approved facts."
- Overstating the bonus. The AI says the bonus will be paid. Try: Say: "Give the funded percentage from the facts."
- Wrong format. The AI numbers the answers or adds headings. Try: Say: "Use Q: and A: lines, answer on the next line."
- Markdown. The AI bolds the questions. Try: Say: "Plain text."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 15 words."
What a strong prompt includes
