- For Executives
- You practice Keeping the AI to your sources
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Write a 3-sentence summary of the report for the CEO, in plain text. Sentence 1 gives the main finding with its number. Sentence 2 gives the recommended action and its cost. Sentence 3 gives the date the CEO needs to decide by. Use the corrected figures from the errata, and do not add anything that is not in the report.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Using the summary page figure. The AI says 12 points. Try: Say: "Use the corrected figures from the errata."
- Wrong action or cost. The AI gives a per-store cost or a different store count. Try: Say: "Sentence 2: roll out to the remaining 18 stores for $540,000."
- Adding outside detail. The AI mentions the theft finding or invented benefits. Try: Say: "Do not add anything not in the summary and errata."
- Missing the date. The AI says "soon". Try: Say: "Sentence 3 gives the decision date."
- Too long. The AI writes a paragraph per point. Try: Say: "Exactly 3 sentences."
- Markdown. The AI bolds numbers. Try: Say: "Plain text."
What a strong prompt includes
- Says exactly 3 sentences
- Assigns each sentence a job
- Uses the errata
