Write a 60-second keynote opening from a cleared customer story

  • For Communications and PR
  • You practice Keeping the AI to your sources
  • Time about 5 minutes
  • Level Intermediate

About this exercise

Write the opening of the CEO's keynote as a spoken script in plain text, under 130 words, short sentences. Tell the story using only the cleared facts. Do not name the customer; call them "a regional grocery chain". Include the 38 percent figure once. Do not use any uncleared claim. End with one question to the audience and no other question marks.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Naming the customer. The AI uses Greenfield Grocers. Try: Say: "Call them a regional grocery chain; do not name them."
  • Using uncleared claims. The AI adds the $2 million saving. Try: Say: "Use only the cleared facts."
  • Multiple questions. The AI asks several rhetorical questions. Try: Say: "End with one question and no other question marks."
  • Long sentences. The AI writes a polished speech. Try: Say: "Short spoken sentences, under 130 words."
  • Markdown. The AI adds a title and bold. Try: Say: "Plain text."
  • Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 15 words."

What a strong prompt includes
