Pull meeting actions into a CSV your tracker can import
- For Project managers
- You practice Asking for a format you can use
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Your project tracker imports actions from CSV. From these meeting notes, output one code block of CSV with exactly the header owner, action, due and one row per action that was actually agreed. Nothing outside the code block except at most one short line.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Not asking for CSV. The AI writes nicely formatted minutes with headings, which a tracker can't import. Try: Say: "Output one CSV code block, header owner, action, due."
- Letting it explain. The AI wraps the data in an intro and a summary of the meeting. Try: Add: "Nothing outside the code block."
- Keeping the first version of a decision. The notes first discuss switching to Tessaro, then reverse it, and the AI can list the wrong one. Try: Add: "Use the final decision if the notes change their mind."
- Including ideas with no owner. The AI turns parked ideas into actions. Try: Add: "Only actions with a named owner and a due date."
What a strong prompt includes
