About this exercise

Write an email asking your sponsor, Ana Pereira, to sign off on the project plan. Plain text, under 90 words. Line 1 is exactly: Subject: Sign-off needed by Friday Nov 22. Body sentence 1 asks for her sign-off. Then exactly 2 dash lines on what the plan commits to (scope and cost). End with the sentence: A reply with "approved" is enough. Do not include internal debates.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Old cost. The AI uses $350,000. Try: Say: "Cost is $380,000 including the security review."
  • Mentioning the debate. The AI mentions IT and Finance disagreeing. Try: Say: "Leave out the internal debate."
  • Wrong ending. The AI ends with 'Thanks'. Try: Say: "End with the exact sentence."
  • Wrong subject. The AI invents a subject. Try: Say: "Line 1 exactly: Subject: Sign-off needed by Friday Nov 22."
  • Markdown. The AI bolds numbers. Try: Say: "Plain text."
  • Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap it: "each line under 20 words."
  • Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 12 words."
