About this exercise
You're editing a finance summary for the CEO. Write a prompt for a plain-text rewrite starting with "Summary:", of 3 sentences or fewer and under 45 words, that keeps every number exactly. Never use the words robust, momentum, headwinds, compressed, healthy or sequentially. Say what happened in everyday words. Do not add any facts. No bullets or numbering.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Keeping the jargon. The AI keeps 'robust momentum' or 'healthy'. Try: Add: "Never use the words robust, momentum, headwinds, compressed, healthy or sequentially."
- Adding facts from the file. The AI adds the Q2 revenue or cloud cost. Try: Add: "Use only the figures in the draft; don't add facts."
- Changing numbers. The AI rounds 7.7% to 8%. Try: Add: "Keep $4.2M, 7.7%, 59.5% and $3.1M exactly."
- Markdown extras. The AI adds bold labels, headings and a closing note. Try: Say: "Plain text, no bold. Output only the lines asked for."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting and runs past word limits. Try: Ask for fewer words than the real cap and keep each line short.
What a strong prompt includes

- Keeps the figures
