Explain how to report a workplace concern in plain words
Practice: Keeping the AI to your sources. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
Employees say they don't know how to raise a concern about workplace conduct. Write exactly 3 numbered ways to report, each one sentence under 20 words, plain text, with the current contact details from the policy, then one line saying retaliation is not allowed and to check with HR with questions. Use the updated hotline details and plain words, not policy language.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Asking to 'summarize the policy'. The AI rewrites every section with bold headings and policy wording. Try: Be exact: "Exactly 3 numbered ways to report, one sentence each. Plain text."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each line instead: "each line under 18 words."
- Copying the old number. The old hotline appears in the main text, and the update sits below it. Try: Add: "Use the Jan 15 hotline: 1-800-555-0199. Never the old number."
- Keeping legal wording. AI copies phrases like 'good-faith report' because they look official. Try: Add: "Simple words for people reading English as a second language."
