Draft a 30-60-90 day plan tied to the job posting
Practice: Keeping the AI to your sources. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
Your final interview asks for a short 30-60-90 day plan. Write exactly 3 lines labeled "30 days:", "60 days:" and "90 days:", each with one goal you could measure, tied to a duty in the posting, under 75 words, plain text, no bullets. Claim no inside knowledge of the company beyond the posting and your notes. Write a prompt that gets you exactly that.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- No fixed shape. The AI writes a long plan with sub-bullets and an intro. Try: Be exact: "Exactly 3 lines: 30 days:, 60 days:, 90 days:. No bullets."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for "under 75 words" and it often lands well over. Try: Cap each part instead: "each line under 22 words."
- Vague goals. "Get to know the team" can't be measured. Try: Add: "One measurable goal per line, tied to a posting duty."
- Inventing insider facts. The AI makes up the database size or repeats the Glassdoor rumor. Try: Add: "Use only the posting and my notes. No rumors."
What a strong prompt includes
- Shows the 3 labels
- Asks for measurable goals
- Ties to the posting
- Rules out rumors
- Sets a word limit
