Write a 30-second career fair pitch you can say out loud
Practice: Saying who it's for. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You're heading to a career fair and need a pitch you can say in about 30 seconds. Keep it under 75 words, plain text, written to be spoken (no symbols or lists): your name and what you're studying first, one achievement with a number, then the exact role you're looking for at this employer. No "I'm passionate about" and no claims beyond your notes. Write a prompt that gets you exactly that.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for "under 75 words" and it often lands well over. Try: Cap each part instead: "5 sentences, each under 15 words."
- Burying who you are. The AI opens with "Hi! I've always loved logistics..." before your name. Try: Add: "First sentence: my name, major and school."
- Being vague about the role. The AI says "any opportunities at your company". Try: Add: "Name the Supply Chain Analyst Rotational Program and one result with a number."
- Writing it to be read. The AI uses bullets or symbols that don't work out loud, plus 'passionate'. Try: Add: "Written to be spoken. No lists or symbols. Don't say passionate."
What a strong prompt includes

- Names the exact role
