Brainstorm listing headlines that each sell a different feature
Practice: Setting limits and rules. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You need headline options for a new listing. Write exactly 3 numbered headlines, each under 8 words, each built on a different feature from the listing notes. Skip hype words (stunning, dream, must-see, gem), leave out the price, and use plain text with nothing else on the page. Write a prompt that gets you exactly that.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Not setting the count. The AI gives 8-10 options, often grouped under headings. Try: Be exact: "Exactly 3 numbered headlines, nothing else."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for "under 30 words" and it often lands well over. Try: Cap each part instead: "each headline under 8 words."
- Repeating one feature. The AI writes three versions of the same kitchen line. Try: Add: "Each headline uses a different feature."
- Taking the seller's hype. The notes ask for "dream home" and "must-see", and the AI goes along. Try: Add: "No stunning, dream, must-see or gem."
What a strong prompt includes
- Sets the number of headlines
- Asks for different features
- Bans hype words
- Leaves out the price
- Caps each headline
