- You practice Giving the right context
- Time about 5 minutes
About this exercise
You're a parent learning English and have a parent-teacher conference next week. Get exactly 5 numbered English sentences you can say, one for each of your concerns, each under 12 words and using simple A2 words, with the Spanish meaning in parentheses after each. Under 130 words, plain text. Only include what you really want to ask, and use your daughter's teacher's correct name.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Getting a generic list. The AI gives 15 or 20 general conference phrases that miss your real questions. Try: Add: "Exactly 5 sentences, one per concern in my notes."
- No translation. The AI writes only English, so you can't check what you're saying. Try: Add: "Put the Spanish meaning in parentheses after each sentence."
- Wrong teacher name. The AI may use Mr. Hayes, the first name in your notes. Try: Add: "The teacher is Ms. Patel."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total and it often lands 20% over. Try: Cap each sentence: "each under 12 words."
- Forgetting where it's going. AI adds bold and headings that show up as stray symbols in a printed card to take with you. Try: Add: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."
