Script a French phone call to reschedule an appointment

About this exercise

You work for a company with a Paris office and must call a client to move a meeting. Get exactly 6 numbered lines that alternate "Vous:" and "Client:", each French line under 12 words with the English in parentheses, using the vous form throughout. Under 160 words, plain text. Use the new date and time your manager just gave you: Thursday, June 12 at 3 p.m.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Not giving the confirmed time. The AI only knows your notes, where the new time is still a guess. Try: Add: "The new time is Thursday, June 12 at 3 p.m."
  • Getting a phrase list. Ask for help with a call and the AI lists phrases, not a conversation you can rehearse. Try: Ask for a script: "6 numbered lines alternating Vous: and Client:."
  • No English to check. The AI writes only French, so you can't tell if you're saying the right thing. Try: Add: "English in parentheses after each line."
  • Not setting formality. A role-play script may slip into tu forms, which is rude with a client. Try: Add: "Use vous throughout."
  • Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total and it often lands 20% over. Try: Cap each line: "each French line under 12 words."
  • Forgetting where it's going. AI adds bold and headings that show up as stray symbols in your call notes. Try: Add: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."
