Plan a week of Spanish phrases for family dinners

  • For Parents and households
  • You practice Giving the right context
  • Time about 5 minutes

About this exercise

You're raising your kids to speak some Spanish and want one phrase per weeknight at dinner. Get exactly 5 numbered lines formatted "1. Monday: Spanish phrase (English)" through Friday, each phrase under 8 words, using tú since you're talking to your kids. Build on what they already know, skip the phrases they've mastered, and keep it under 100 words, plain text.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Getting a generic list. The AI gives 20 common phrases for kids, not the things your family says at dinner. Try: Add: "Use the 5 dinner things in my notes, one per weeknight."
  • Repeating what they know. The AI includes 'gracias' and 'pass the water' because they're common. Try: Add: "Skip the phrases they've mastered."
  • Not saying who you're talking to. The AI may mix in formal usted forms, which sound stiff with your own kids. Try: Add: "Use tú; I'm talking to my kids."
  • No line shape. The AI makes a table or adds pronunciation and tips for every phrase. Try: Show it: "1. Monday: Lávate las manos, por favor. (Wash your hands, please.)"
  • Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total and it often lands 20% over. Try: Cap each phrase: "each phrase under 8 words."
  • Forgetting where it's going. AI adds bold and headings that show up as stray symbols in a note on the fridge. Try: Add: "Plain text, no bold, no headings."
