About this exercise
Write a short email asking three peers for feedback on your last project. Plain text, under 110 words, subject first. Include a three-line fill-in template using exactly these labels: Keep doing:, Start doing:, Stop doing:. Give the reply date, tell them replies are confidential to you, and do not ask for ratings. End with your name, Imani.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Asking for ratings. The AI adds a 1-5 scale. Try: Say: "No ratings; ask for specific examples."
- Wrong date. The AI uses Nov 8. Try: Say: "Reply by Friday Nov 15."
- Missing the template. The AI writes only a paragraph. Try: Say: "Include the three labels Keep doing:, Start doing:, Stop doing:."
- Markdown. The AI bolds labels. Try: Say: "Plain text."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap it: "3 short sentences before the template."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 12 words."
