Decide which recurring meetings to keep, cut or shorten with a rule

About this exercise

Audit six recurring meetings with this rule: Keep if it has a decision or a named owner for outputs; Shorten if it is over 30 minutes and has no decisions; Cut if it has fewer than 4 attendees who speak and no decisions. Output a markdown table with columns Meeting, Verdict, Hours saved per month (4 weeks), where hours are shown as the meeting minutes x attendees x number of times, divided by 60. If both the Shorten and Cut conditions apply, the verdict is Cut. Do not guess; apply the rule only.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Cutting by feel. The AI cuts the metrics review. Try: Say: "Apply the rule exactly."
  • Using the old attendee count. The AI uses 7. Try: Say: "Meeting 4 has 6 attendees."
  • Wrong hours. The AI forgets to multiply by attendees and 4 weeks. Try: Say: "Hours = minutes x attendees x 4 / 60."
  • Wrong columns. The AI changes the table. Try: Say: "Columns: Meeting, Verdict, Hours saved per month."
  • Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap it: "short meeting names, numbers in the last column."
  • Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 12 words."
