About this exercise

Write a Slack post announcing the move from the old ticket tool to a new one. Plain text, no bold, no emojis, under 90 words. First line: what is changing in one sentence. Then 3 lines starting with a dash, each with a date and what happens. Last line: where to get help. Use the corrected dates.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Old dates. The AI uses the Nov 15 freeze. Try: Say: "Use the revised dates: freeze Nov 20, go-live Nov 22."
  • Tech jargon. The AI adds SSO and webhooks. Try: Say: "No technical details."
  • Wrong layout. The AI writes a paragraph. Try: Say: "One sentence, three dash lines, one help line."
  • Markdown and emojis. The AI adds bold and emojis. Try: Say: "Plain text, no emojis."
  • Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each line: "each line under 20 words."
  • Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 12 words."
