Report three product risks in plain words for your VP
- For Product managers
- You practice Saying who it's for
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Report the three biggest product risks to your VP, who is not technical. Write exactly 3 lines in plain text in the form: Risk - what could happen - what I need. Each line is under 22 words, avoids technical terms (API, latency, schema, refactor), and uses only the notes. Order the lines by how soon the problem could hit, soonest first (the cart slowdown is already happening, so it comes first).
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Technical terms. The AI writes 'API deprecation' and 'latency'. Try: Say: "Avoid API, latency, schema, refactor; use plain words."
- Wrong order. The AI orders by importance. Try: Say: "Order by how soon it could hit."
- Including the non-risk. The AI adds the fonts issue. Try: Say: "Only the three real risks."
- Missing asks. The AI omits what you need. Try: Say: "Each line ends with what I need."
- Markdown. The AI uses bullets. Try: Say: "Plain text."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each line: "each line under 22 words."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 12 words."
