Condense a messy week into a three-line update for the CEO
- For Executives
- You practice Saying who it's for
- Time about 5 minutes
- Level Beginner
About this exercise
Your CEO reads updates on her phone between meetings. Turn your notes into exactly three lines in plain text, labeled Shipped, Risk and Decision needed. Each line is one sentence under 25 words. Use the corrected figure where the notes changed. Do not add a greeting or sign-off.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Wrong structure. The AI writes a paragraph or adds extra sections like 'Team morale'. Try: Say: "Exactly three lines: Shipped, Risk, Decision needed."
- Using the old number. The AI picks 40% from the first mention. Try: Say: "Finance re-measured: use 25%, not 40%."
- Vague ask. The AI says 'would value your input' and omits the deadline. Try: Say: "State the decision and the Friday Nov 8 deadline."
- Markdown clutter. The AI uses bold labels and bullets. Try: Say: "Plain text only."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each line: "each line under 25 words."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead, for example: "each line under 12 words."
