Set 30-60-90 day goals a new hire can measure
Practice: Setting limits and rules. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
Your new account manager starts next week, and you're writing her 30-60-90 day goals. Write exactly 3 lines labeled 30 days:, 60 days: and 90 days:, each with one measurable goal (a number) from your notes, plain text, under 60 words. Use the adjusted 90-day target, and leave out goals the team said are too early for a new hire.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Asking for 'an onboarding plan'. The AI writes a long plan with headings, weekly tasks and resources. Try: Be exact: "3 lines labeled 30 days:, 60 days:, 90 days:. Plain text."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each line instead: "each line under 16 words."
- Using the old target. 90% appears first, with the adjustment below it. Try: Add: "90-day renewal target is 85% (adjusted)."
- Adding rejected goals. The upsell and training ideas are in your notes, and the AI includes them. Try: Add: "No upsell target, no training goal."
What a strong prompt includes

- Uses the adjusted target
