Nominate a teammate for an award with matching evidence
Practice: Keeping the AI to your sources. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You're nominating Hana for the quarterly Customer Hero award. Write one opening sentence naming her and her role, then exactly 3 numbered pieces of evidence, each matched to one of the award's criteria and including a number, plain text, under 90 words. Use only work from this quarter (Q2), and leave out praise without evidence.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Asking for 'a nomination'. The AI writes a glowing essay that gets cut off in the tool. Try: Be exact: "One opening sentence, then exactly 3 numbered pieces of evidence. Plain text."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each part instead: "each line under 22 words."
- Not matching the criteria. The AI lists accomplishments without tying each to what judges score. Try: Add: "Match each item to a criterion, in order, with a number."
- Going outside the quarter. The Q1 project is strong, so the AI includes it. Try: Add: "Q2 work only. Skip February."
- Fluffy praise. AI loves 'heart of the team' lines. Try: Add: "No praise without evidence."
What a strong prompt includes

- Limits to the quarter
