Prep wins, misses and asks for a quarterly review
Practice: Asking for a format you can use. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You meet your director for a quarterly review tomorrow. Write exactly 3 lines labeled Wins:, Misses: and Asks:, each with numbers from your notes, plain text, under 75 words. Use the corrected figure, describe misses without blaming anyone, and include only the ask you've decided to make.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Asking for 'review prep'. The AI writes a long doc with sections, talking points and context. Try: Show the shape: "3 lines labeled Wins:, Misses:, Asks:. Plain text."
- Trusting the AI to count words. AI is bad at counting. Ask for a total word limit and it often lands over it. Try: Cap each line instead: "each line under 22 words."
- Using the uncorrected CSAT. 89% appears first, with the correction below it. Try: Add: "CSAT is 88% (corrected)."
- Blaming and extra asks. The AI explains misses by naming people and adds the tool request. Try: Add: "No names or excuses in Misses. One ask: a part-time weekend agent."
What a strong prompt includes
- Shows the labels
- Uses the correction
- No blame
- One ask only
- Sets a word limit
