Brainstorm bus-shelter taglines that legal will approve

Practice: Setting limits and rules. About 5 minutes.

About this exercise

You're brainstorming taglines for Meadowly's oat creamer bus-shelter ads. You need exactly 6 numbered taglines, each under 8 words and each including the name "Meadowly" so people remember the brand, and nothing else: plain text, no intro, no explanations. The brief's legal rules apply: never say "organic", no health claims, and no sugar claims, even in lines the team liked at kickoff. Write a prompt that gets that list.

Common mistakes when you ask AI for this

  • Asking for "some tagline ideas". The AI gives 10 to 20 lines grouped under headings, with a note on each one. Try: Set the count: "Exactly 6 numbered taglines."
  • Not passing on the legal rules. Oat products make the AI think "healthy" and "organic", and it happily reuses the kickoff favorites, which break the brief's rules. Try: Spell them out: "Never say organic. No health or sugar claims, so skip the kickoff lines."
  • Leaving out the brand. The AI writes clever lines that never name Meadowly, or full sentences nobody can read from a curb in 3 seconds. Try: Add: "Each tagline under 8 words and includes the name Meadowly."
  • Getting commentary you didn't ask for. AI explains why each tagline works and adds bold headings, so you can't paste the list straight into the deck. Try: Add: "Output only the numbered list. Plain text, no bold, no explanations."

What a strong prompt includes

  • Says how many taglines
  • Limits the length
  • Names the brand in every line
  • Passes on the legal rules
  • Asks for only the list
