Write meta descriptions for three nonprofit blog posts
Practice: Setting limits and rules. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You manage the website for Greenhaven Tenant Alliance and need meta descriptions for 3 blog posts. Write exactly 3 numbered descriptions, each one sentence under 28 words, each including that post's target keyword word for word. No "click here" or "learn more", don't describe the free clinic as legal advice, and reply with only the plain-text list.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Paraphrasing the keyword. The AI rewrites the keyword, so the exact search phrase is missing. Try: Add: "Use each keyword word for word."
- Calling it legal advice. "Free legal advice" is how the AI describes tenant clinics. Try: Add: "The clinic is form help and information, never legal advice."
- Wasting space. The AI ends descriptions with "Learn more" or "Click here". Try: Add: "No click here or learn more."
- Getting a formatted list. The AI adds bold post titles and character counts. Try: Add: "Exactly 3 numbered lines, plain text."
What a strong prompt includes
- Says how many
- Uses the exact keywords
- Describes the clinic accurately
- Rules out filler
- Asks for only the list
