Write search ad sitelinks for pages that still exist
Practice: Setting limits and rules. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You own Greenhollow Nursery and are adding sitelinks under your search ad. Write exactly 4 numbered sitelinks in the shape Title | Description, with titles under 4 words and descriptions under 10 words, one per live page in your notes. Skip the page that was taken down, and reply with only the plain-text list.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Linking a dead page. Landscape design is in the notes, so the AI makes a sitelink for it. Try: Add: "Skip landscape design; that page is gone."
- Ignoring the limits. The AI writes long titles and full-sentence descriptions. Try: Add: "Titles under 3 words, descriptions under 8 words."
- Overpromising. "Lowest prices" and "seats available" are easy ad hooks. Try: Add: "No lowest prices, no promised seats."
- Getting formatting. The AI adds bold titles and URLs. Try: Add: "Exactly 4 numbered lines, plain text."
What a strong prompt includes
- Sets the shape
- Sets per-part limits
- Skips the dead page
- Says how many
- Asks for only the list
