Write open house follow-up texts for three kinds of visitors
Practice: Saying who it's for. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You're an agent following up with Sunday's open house visitors by text. Write exactly 3 numbered templates, one each for a neighbor, a buyer with an agent, and a buyer without an agent, each under 40 words and starting with "Hi [First name],". No pressure lines, use the next open house date from the update, and reply with only the plain-text list.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- One text for everyone. The AI writes one generic follow-up, which is wrong for buyers who have agents. Try: Ask for one per visitor type: neighbor, buyer with agent, buyer without agent.
- Pitching another agent's client. The AI offers a private showing to everyone. Try: Add: "For buyers with an agent, offer info through their agent."
- Using the old date. Saturday, Nov 15 comes first in the notes. Try: Add: "Next open house is Sunday, Nov 16, 1-3pm."
- Adding pressure. Real estate texts in the AI's training say "won't last". Try: Add: "No act fast, won't last or multiple offers."
- Getting labels in bold. The AI bolds each template's label. Try: Add: "Plain text, numbered list only."
What a strong prompt includes
- Names the visitor types
- Sets the placeholder
- Uses the new date
- Rules out pressure
- Asks for only the list
