Write recording email subject lines without guilt-tripping
Practice: Getting the tone right. About 5 minutes.
About this exercise
You're sending the webinar recording to everyone who registered for Fernway HR's benefits webinar, including people who didn't attend. Write exactly 4 numbered subject lines, each under 9 words, each including the word "recording". No guilt lines like "we missed you" or "you missed it", any deadline must match the corrected link expiry, and reply with only the plain-text list.
Common mistakes when you ask AI for this
- Guilt-tripping. Recording emails in the AI's training start with "Sorry we missed you!" Try: Add: "No we missed you or you missed it."
- Using the old expiry. 30 days is in the first draft, and the AI may use it. Try: Add: "The link expires Dec 1 (7 days)."
- Not naming what it is. The AI writes clever lines that never say it's the recording. Try: Add: "Each includes the word recording."
- Getting a long list. The AI gives 10 options in bold groups. Try: Add: "Exactly 4 numbered lines, plain text."
What a strong prompt includes
- Says how many
- Requires the word recording
- Rules out guilt
- Uses the correct expiry
- Asks for only the list
